Looking to revalidate your SEP rating?
The EASA SEP rating is valid for 24 calendar months and is revalidated either by:
- Successfully completing a proficiency check with an examiner, or
- In the second 12 months of your SEP rating's validity, logging twelve hours of flight time in the same class of aircraft, including all of the following:
- one hour of dual training to the satisfaction of an instructor, and
- six hours of PIC or PICUS time, and
- twelve take-offs and landings.
In both cases, the SEP rating page in your licence should be signed by an examiner, or an FCL.745 approved instructor, before the expiry date of your current rating.
Do not leave it late
All EASA ratings and certificates have a Cinderella-like quality and expire at 23:59 on the last day of validity. The revalidation process is only available while the rating or certificate is still valid. If the rating has expired you will need to follow the alternate process for renewing the relevant rating.
Returning after a prolonged break
Your EASA license itself never expires, so even if you have been away from aviation for a prolonged period we can help you renew your ratings and get safely back to flying.
